For Memorial Weekend in 2004, we were invited to join the 20th Annual Memorial Weekend Camping trip to Tall Oaks Campground in Farmington, Pennsylvania. Having never camped before, we were a little skeptical about it but decided it might be fun. On the trip, we also got the opportunity to go white water rafting. The rafting trip was on the Lower Youghiogheny River. Eight of us went rafting and were separated into boats of four. We were paired up with our friends Lennon and Rhoda. You can see a couple of pictures from our rapid adventure below. The river has Class III and Class IV rapids and is 7.2 miles long. The trip took around 5 hours including a stop for a shore lunch. It was the first time rafting for all four of us. We did all manage to go swimming at one point during the trip, but only once for each of us and no injuries other than bruises and achy muscles.
